Homemade Peanut Butter Cookies for Dogs
It's not secret…dogs LOOOOOVE peanut butter, but did you know you can make your own peanut butter dog treats at home? The homemade peanut butter cookies for dogs have only 4 simple ingredients, perfect for training rewards and occasional treats for your dog.
Make sure you use unsweetened and plain ingredients. No spices in the pumpkin and definitely no xylitol as sweetener in the peanut butter because it's dangerous for dogs.
Ingredients:
- 2 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
- 2/3 cup canned pumpkin, plain
- 1/2 cup peanut butter, unsweetened
- 2 large eggs
How to Make The Homemade Peanut Butter Cookies:
Preheat oven to 350 F
Combine all the ingredients, using a wooden spoon or a mixer with a paddle attachment. The dough will be quite dry and stiff, so don't worry. If it's too dry, you can add a tiny bit of water, but this shouldn't be necessary.
Roll the dough out 1/2 inch thick. Use your favorite cookie cutter to create fun shapes.
Place in oven on a prepared baking sheet. Bake for about 40 minutes until hard. Baking time may vary, depending on the size of cookie cooker, so do monitor as they bake.
These cookies should last on your counter in an airtight container for about 2-3 weeks. If you are going to keep them longer, you may want to store them in an airtight container in your freezer.
